Reflecting on My 19th-Day Teaching Internship Experience at St. John's Model HSS Nalanchira
As a student teacher, my journey through the teaching internship program at St. John's Model Higher Secondary School in Nalanchira has been an enlightening and transformative experience. Each day brings new challenges and opportunities for growth. On my 19th day, I had the privilege of conducting my first period in a Class 9 Physics class, where I delved into the fascinating topic of velocity-time relations. This day also took an unexpected turn as I got the chance to join a school study tour group as a supporting staff member. In this blog post, I will share my experiences, challenges, and the enriching moments from this day of my teaching internship.
Teaching Class 9 Physics: Velocity-Time Relations
My day began with a sense of excitement and nervousness as I entered the classroom to teach Class 9 students about velocity-time relations in Physics. The topic is crucial for understanding the fundamentals of motion, and I wanted to make it engaging and relatable for the students.
To make the learning experience more interactive, I decided to incorporate Information and Communication Technology (ICT) aids into my lesson plan. I used multimedia presentations and simulations to visually represent velocity-time graphs and explain the concept. The students seemed more engaged and enthusiastic when they could see the graphs come to life on the screen.

As a supporting staff member, my responsibilities included ensuring the safety and well-being of the students, assisting with logistics, and providing any educational insights related to the tour destinations.
