A Journey of Growth: My Teaching Internship at St. John's Model HSS Nalanchira

Embarking on my teaching internship at St. John's Model Higher Secondary School in Nalanchira has been an incredible learning experience so far. Each day presents new challenges and opportunities to grow as an educator. Today, I'd like to share my reflections on the third day of my internship, where I had the privilege of teaching Class 9 physics, focusing on the introduction to equations of motion using ICT aids and activity cards.


Day 3: A Day of Innovative Teaching


As I entered the classroom, I couldn't help but feel a mix of excitement and nervousness. The day's agenda was to introduce the concept of equations of motion to a group of bright Class 9 students. To make this lesson engaging and interactive, I decided to incorporate ICT aids and activity cards.


The lesson began with a brief introduction to the topic, followed by a discussion on the relevance of equations of motion in our everyday lives. I used multimedia presentations and visual aids to illustrate real-world examples, emphasizing the importance of this concept. The students seemed genuinely interested and engaged, which was a rewarding sight to behold.


To further solidify their understanding, I distributed activity cards that contained problems related to equations of motion. These cards not only challenged the students to apply their knowledge but also encouraged peer collaboration. Watching them work together and brainstorm solutions was a testament to the power of hands-on learning.


After the activity, I posed review questions to assess their comprehension. This interactive approach allowed me to gauge their understanding and address any misconceptions promptly. The students' responses indicated that they had grasped the fundamental concepts well, which was a satisfying outcome.


Follow-up Activities
